Guitar Lessons - Glasgow City Centre

Taught by Fraser Murray

Learning the guitar doesn't have to be difficult. With just a few minutes of practice and a good teacher, you'll make huge leaps and bounds to be able to play your favourite songs. Having guitar lessons is a brilliant and fun way to improve your drive, discipline and is a great stress reliever!

Mastering that tricky chord change, succeeding at playing that solo and writing your first song are all truly amazing experiences, which will fill you with a sense of pride and boost your confidence, even when you aren't playing the guitar!

Playing guitar is also a great way to socialise and meet people, and is a fantastic way to spend an evening with your friends and family performing your favourite songs.

A one hour session costs £25 - with a discount for block booking six or twelve lessons via my shop.

Achieve Your Goals Rapidly

Even if you’ve just started learning the guitar today - we will set simple, clear and achievable milestones to work towards. On our first session, I’ll be happy to plan how to get you to playing your favourite songs, with great technique.

We'll cover the most important blocks of learning the guitar first:

  • Chords
  • Scales
  • Timing
  • Classical Technique

With just a few minutes of practice each day, you'll find you make huge progress!

Straightforward Guitar Lessons

Learning the guitar doesn't have to be a confusing and difficult experience. You don't need to learn how to read music, understand music theory or spend months memorising scales and arpeggios.

With a little practice at home, with only a few minutes each day you'll be able to pick up some songs and play away to your hearts content.

One of the first goals I like to set with my students is finding ten of their favourite songs to learn. Once we cover each song, I send them a copy of the music and handouts with all of the main techniques covered to refer to in the future. This helps build up a repertoire of songs to play and helps to set a solid foundation for the future.

I can also record you playing with professional audio and video so you can show your friends and have a reference point!

My Teaching Experience

I'm an experienced and knowledgeable guitar tutor with 10 years of teaching experience. In my university years, I helped my fellow students as a student mentor and achieved great results in my BSc Music Technology. I love to share my knowledge and love of guitar and can explain any aspect of music in a simple, concise manner.

My time working with songwriters and composers allows me to help you write, teaching you what you need to know to create your own original songs.

I tailor each lesson to your needs as a musician, with the content and music we learn chosen by you. I can also tailor the lessons to the ABRSM and Rock School exam syllabus, allowing you to sit the exam with confidence.

All ages, group sizes and skill levels are welcome, and I would love to discuss starting lessons with you!

I also love American Football, big dogs and love to meet new people!
